Partnership with parents is encouraged. We learn from parents how to best care for their children. Open lines of communications are essential to the care of the children. Each child is an individual and attending to their unique needs is our priority at Honeydew
We post a daily activities board where families can read about what the children did that day. Every other week each child gets an "observation" card where the teachers write down each child's latest favorite friend, activity or food. Or if the child learned a particular skill or learned a new word.
Every 3 months, we have a mandatory general parent meeting with the director and the staff. This is a chance for the parents to meet each other, the staff and any adjunct teachers visiting us at the meeting. At each meeting, the parents get a taste of the curriculum. At one meeting, the movement/yoga teacher demonstrated a couple of the yoga poses that the children were learning and talked about their benefits to the children's growth and development.
